ABOUT US-TURNING A NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE TO POSITIVE POSSIBILITIES:
The Naija Youth TV sprang from the passion of our CEO Ken U. Nnamdi to see a positive progress to the beautiful harmonious Nigeria he left behind years ago, which now appears to be heading towards discord and fragmented. In year 2000, our CEO, Kenneth U Nnamdi visited Nigeria from his USA home for a philanthropic project, he became a victim of violent crime, kidnapp, torture, etc , from a religion sect in Nigeria whose members are equally in different parts of USA. This left him permanently disabled and has to be using assistive devices to hear and communicate. This changed his whole life and career focus, leaving his university / college teaching career to focus on making the world a more tolerant safer place through interfaith, intertribal projects in Africa.
This passion has led our CEO to many countries to research on what really works in those countries that have similar issues like Nigeria including Ghana, were he spent two weeks. He spent one week with the Muslims and another week with the Christians, and at the invitation of Ghana President, the experience and strategies learnt, solidify his resolve to set up the Naija Youth TV and model after Ghana experience in having peaceful Religious and ethnic Co-habitation.
Our CEO brings to board his passion, his USA experience in youth conflicts resolution, youth violence de-escalation and turning around the negative synergies to productive positive outcomes. As one of the fundamental principles of peace and conflicts resolutions, his goal for the Naija Youth TV is to empower and draw from the Nigerian Youth, the power to come up with their ideas and solutions on how to proffer peace, apply principles of productive co-habitation and how to respectfully agree to disagree an issues (even when we disagree with the powers that be). The underlying product of such is the need to respect and admire each other’s religion, tribal or socio-economic background while building on what we have in common.
